Join us in April to learn about the Last Green Valley with Bill Reid. Mr. Reid will inspire you to enjoy the outdoors as he discusses this National Heritage Corridor with a rich history in a surprisingly rural landscape.
Bill Reid is the Chief Ranger for The Last Green Valley National Heritage Corridor. He has worked for The Last Green Valley, Inc. for 16 years. As Chief Ranger he conducts programs and outreach events throughout the region and coordinates the work of more than 40 Volunteer Rangers.
Bill is the go to person for information on exploring the natural and cultural resources within The Last Green Valley National Heritage Corridor. In the spring of 2009, he organized and led 8 weeks of paddling on several rivers in the region from Mashapaug Lake in Massachusetts to Avery Point on Long Island Sound. On behalf of CT DEEP Wildlife Division, he also organizes the mid-winter bald eagle survey within the 26 CT towns in the National Heritage Corridor and assists in monitoring bald eagle nests in the region.
Bill lives with his wife Julie in Putnam, CT and has two grown children and 6 grandchildren.
