August 13, 2020 Zoom Meeting

Food Insecurity
Thursday, August 13, 2020                                        7:00 pm on Zoom

Amy Hollis, who is the Shoreline Soup Kitchens and Pantries (SSKP) Executive Director, will speak to us about food insecurity even in the largely affluent area of southeastern CT.  AAUW President Gay Clarkson will send you an invitation to the ZOOM meeting close to the date of the meeting.  You can do ZOOM on any computer, including laptops and tablets and even via smartphone.  Your computer does not need a camera to do ZOOM, though you’ll miss being able to see people and have them see you if you just join by audio.  For instructions, please see below.
HOW TO CONNECT USING ZOOM
To connect to our Zoom video meeting, I believe that the best experience will be had using a computer (desktop or laptop), but you can use a mobile device (phone or tablet) as well.
Using a Computer (Desktop or Laptop) to Connect
To use your computer, you just have to click on the Zoom meeting link (or copy and paste it into your browser). When you do, it will ask you to download the Zoom app and will give you a big button to do so.
But you don’t have to download the app.*
You’ll see “Join by using your browser” in smaller text underneath the big button to download the app. It’s hyperlinked, so when you click on it, it will take you to the meeting from a browser window.
*I believe the experience using the app is best, but it’s easier to connect immediately by just using your browser.
Using a Mobile Device (Phone or Tablet) to Connect
To use a mobile device, you’ll have to first download the Zoom app before you try to connect. Just go to your devices App Store and search for “Zoom”. The app is free. Then click on the Zoom meeting link when it’s time for the video meeting!
