Research and Stewardship of the Rosenfeld Collection at Mystic Seaport Museum

Carol Mowrey, Research  Librarian/ Rosenfeld Specialist will speak to us this month about the Rosenfeld Collection.  “With more than one million objects, the Rosenfeld Collection is the largest collection of marine photography in the United States. The collection chronicles various maritime activities circa 1890’s through 1992.  MSM was recently awarded a ‘Save America’s Treasures’ grant for the restoration of negatives deteriorating because of Vinegar Syndrome – this procedure will also be discussed.”
Carol Mowrey, is glad for the opportunity to speak to our group. She has a BS in Chemistry and worked as a chemist for 20 years.  After obtaining a MLS in Library Science (a complete career change), she has been at the Mystic Seaport Museum in her present job for the past 7 years.
