Native American Tales with Morning Star

Join us for the first meeting of the year with Sister Bette-Jean Coderrre, (AKA Morning Star).   Mohegan tribal member storyteller and author, Morning Star, will share her tales and Native American lore.

Bette-Jean Coderre, CSJ (Morning Star) was born in Pawtucket, RI and was educated in the public schools there. She holds a BA from Our Lady of the Elms College in Chicopee, Massachusetts and a MAT from St. Michael’s College in Winooski, Vermont.   For twenty-six years, she taught junior high school students at St. Patrick’s School in Massachusetts. Then, for fourteen years, she worked as an assistant in the Mohegan Library and also as a teller of tales in the Mohegan Out-Reach Program.   She is the author of the book, Teddy’s Tail, the Wit and Wisdom of an F.O. T.  (Fat Orange Tabby)

Our meeting this month will be in the conference room of the Public Library of New London.  There will be a brief business meeting and refreshments before the program.
